Research Title: Conditional application of direct power control for current limiting within Grid Forming converters
Abstract: My PhD investigates direct power/current control for grid-forming voltage source converters in wind turbine applications. The research focuses on improving transient stability and limiting converter current and power during large grid disturbances, while reducing converter rating and cost. It also examines switching frequency requirements and the impact of resonances, remote faults and overmodulation.
