Ocean waves present an immense source of renewable energy that has yet to be fully realised, with current wave technologies and applications remaining limited. Along with increased interest to develop wave energy by integration with other renewable sources, Jane’s research is imperative to develop improved energy capture devices for waves by employing new techniques to harvest the energy from the resource. The research explores an integrated design of an ocean wave energy converter that utilises a complementary vortex-induced vibration methodology.
