My DPhil project aims to develop a reliable design framework for drilled and grouted piles and anchors in strong rock formations for offshore renewable energy systems. The study integrates laboratory shear box tests, numerical modelling, and field data from Scottish Power Renewables to investigate grout–rock interface behaviour. By linking experimental and field evidence, the research seeks to improve current design approaches and enhance the safety and efficiency of offshore foundations.
